Per implant, including the titanium post, the abutment and the final crown. A bone graft,
if you need one, adds €300–€600. Your total is confirmed in writing after
the first scan and does not change afterwards.
How it works, step by step
- Consultation and 3D scan · 45 minutes, €60We look at the bone, not just
the gap. You leave with a written quote and a yes-or-no answer — the €60 comes off the
treatment if you go ahead.
- Placing the implant · about 1 hourLocal anaesthetic, a small incision, the
titanium post placed into the jawbone. Most people go back to work the next day and take
ordinary painkillers for two or three days.
- Healing · 3 to 4 monthsThe bone fuses to the post. You wear a temporary
tooth throughout — you are never walking around with a visible gap.
- The crown · 2 appointmentsAn impression, then the custom crown fitted and
adjusted until the bite feels like nothing happened.
- Check-up at 12 months · freeWe look at the implant and the gum around it.

Who it suits — and who it doesn't
We would rather turn a case away than take on one that fails. The scan at the first
appointment gives a definitive answer, but broadly:
An implant is usually right if
- You're missing one tooth or a few, not most of them
- Your gums are healthy, or treatable first
- You'd rather not file down the neighbouring teeth for a bridge
- You want something that doesn't come out at night
We'll suggest something else if
- You have active gum disease — that gets treated first, always
- You smoke heavily; the failure rate rises sharply and we'll say so
- There isn't enough bone and you'd rather not have a graft
- A bridge would genuinely serve you better for less money

How much does a dental implant cost in Malta?
Between €1,200 and €1,800 for a single implant, including the post, the abutment and the
crown. A bone graft adds €300 to €600 if one is needed. Our total is confirmed in writing
after your first scan and doesn't change afterwards.
How long does the whole thing take?
Four to five months from start to finish. The placement itself is a single appointment of
about an hour; the rest is healing time, during which you wear a temporary tooth.
Does it hurt?
The placement is done under local anaesthetic and most patients describe it as less
uncomfortable than having a tooth out. Expect ordinary painkillers for two or three days.
How long do implants last?
The post itself commonly lasts twenty years or more, often for life, as long as the gums
stay healthy. The crown on top is the part that wears and usually needs replacing after ten
to fifteen years.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes. For treatments over €800 we split the cost across the treatment period at no extra
charge. Ask at the consultation and we'll write the schedule into your quote.
